Detox with a Bowl

Why Detox?

Detoxing with food is a great way to be kind to your body. Due to exposure to toxins, poor diet, stress and exposure to viruses and infections, food is your secret weapon to healing your gut.

Here are four quick lunch bowls to help you detox during the middle of the day.

1. Avocado Toasted Bowl -  Start with a mashed avocado, then add a drizzle of olive oil, lime salt, pepper, cumin, siracha then add toast points or corn chips.

Why avocados? The healthy fat avocados contain will get your bile levels up, helping to get rid of toxins that have been stagnant due to low bile production and utilize fat soluble vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K) that are so important to you body. . The fiber in avocados helps carry these toxins out, and the assorted vitamins and minerals insure your body doesn't suffer during the process

2. Beets Better Bowl - Add Beets, banana, chia, hemp seeds, almond milk and top with kiwi and coconut flakes.

Why beets? The consumption of beets can actually increase the body's production of glutathione and it is used by almost every cell in the body to remove toxins, including the colon where it pulls out the toxins and flushes them out of the body

3. Super Green bowl - Blend spirulina, chlorella, spinach, kale, bananas for creaminess and then top with goji berries and sliced almonds.

 Why? The nutrients, including fiber and enzymes, in the leafy greens help to support fat burning and detoxification in the body.

4. Roasted veggie bowl -  Use roasted Brussel sprouts and sweet potato as a base then top with tahini dressing.

Why? Glucosinolates in Brussels sprouts and their detox-activating isothiocyanates. ...Brussels sprouts are able to provide that kind of support because they are an excellent source of vitamin C and a very good source of manganese.
