why do kids need yoga for movement

Improve Gross & Fine Motor Skills – Yoga builds a strong foundation of gross and fine motor skills that will become vital for school readiness and sports. The poses practiced while on all fours may boost the fine motor skills needed for buttoning clothes, zippering jackets, and holding crayons. Poses that provide opportunities for children to bear weight on their forearms strengthen the muscles used in handwriting. More playful movement rhymes (i.e., wheels on the bus) boost hand-eye coordination.
