Stretching matters after your workout.

Even if you hit the big "4-0" you may still look like you're in your thirties, but your body may not feel like it. The type of training your body needs is different in each decade. Gravity takes it toll on the body and even if you've been active your entire life, you still need to change up your workouts as you get older.

You're not 30 - but you look like it.


If you are still running or walking, it's important to open up the body after your session. Stretching allows the body to cool down and also helps the heart beat to return to a resting rate. The release of lactic acid during an intense workout is dispersed to the bloodstream with stretching. This allows faster muscle recovery and repair. Here are four stretches you should be doing at the end of your workout.


Hold stretches for 10-30 seconds and be sure to do them on both sides.

High Pigeon Stretch

Spine Twist Stretch
