  1. Tufts University found that eating 3 or more servings of whole grains promotes satiety hormones and discourage belly fat storage.. - try those ancient grains like faro and quinoa!

  2. For every 10 grams of fiber you eat, you slash your rate of belly fat by 4 percent according to a study in the Journal of Obesity. Navy and kidney beans have 4-5 grams of fiber per half cup. Lentils, black beans and lima beans have 7-8 grams of fiber per cup.

  3. Flatten your belly with Chia seeds. Chia seeds contain essential fatty acids ALA which helps move fat away from vital organs. Sprinkle them in just about anything from salads to smoothies.

  4. Cinnamon may help burn fatty tissue. Japanese scientists added cinnamon oil to the diet of a group of mice and after one month those mice had less belly fat than the “unspiced" mice group.

  5. Eating chocolate daily could help you lose belly fat: 70% Cacao (dark chocolate) has a high concentration of catechines which influence insulin sensitivity & production of cortisol.

  6. Eat more tumeric. Tumeric contains a molecule that can help pull sugar out of the blood stream and burn it as energy instead of storing it as belly fat according to the a study in the Journal of Food & Function.

  7. Have vinegar and oil on your salads and don’t feel guilty about the croutons. Acetic acid in all vinegars is believed to interfere with digestion of starch in the stomach and stimulate enzymes which burn fat.

  8. The European Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that women who ate diets rich in red and purple veggies had less ab fat than those who ate green or yellow. These studies suggest that flavonoids in these colors may inhibit fat absorption.

  9. Pomegranate vinegar? Korean researchers found that 1 ounce of pom vinegar a day, reduced belly fat by almost 4% over 8 weeks.

  10. Add some coconut oil to your salad. Coconut oil contains fatty acid, lauric acid, which your body burns quickly to produce energy. Dieters who took coconut oil supplements shrunk their waistlines faster than those who didn’t in a 12-week study.
