Better Sleep with Magnesium

After a long, stressful day, all you can look forward to is getting some shut eye but your brain won’t let you.  So you lay there, staring at the ceiling, tossing and turning, using every trick you’ve so hopelessly researched online to help you fall asleep but still, no luck.  

 

On average, adults are not getting the amount of sleep necessary resulting in sleep deprivation.  Sleep enables us to reset the body’s metabolism and repair cells and muscles.  

 

Sleep also plays an important role in maintaining a health body weight and even weight loss.  Lack of sleep enables our leptin hormones to drop and gherlin hormones to rise.  Leptin allows the body to utilize fat as fuel while gherlin increases our appetite.  Too little sleep means you'll be eating more calories and not burning them off!

 

But don’t let stress get in the way of your rest.

 

Step over melatonin and check out the latest in sleep supplements. Magnesium is a great sleep aid. Magnesium is a powerful element packed with the ability to relax muscles, and decrease stress hormones to help you reach that calm, sleepy feeling.  You can supplement with OTC magnesium with 250 mg or try a magnesium oil spray .  It will not only help you sleep but can also relieve headaches, muscle aches, joint pain, and migraines.

 

Here are a few other helpful tips for a better night's rest:

  1. Dim the lights!  The stress hormone, cortisol, is stimulated by light.

  2. Skip the caffeine.  Coffee and other caffeinated beverages can keep you awake for up to 6 hours after consumption.

  3. Meditate & Stretch. Clear your mind and body through calming exercises as opposed to cardio exercises that increase your heart rate.

  4. Take a warm bath.  A warm bath can soothe achy muscles and relax the body for better sleep.
