#21 Days For Good

It's not often that you get a chance to raise money for a charity by doing something for yourself. One can argue that running a 5K race which benefits a charity is one way or getting a flu shot at Walgreens can help more people get a life-saving vaccine are ways, but the current program I was selected for "#21 Days For Good" with Snap Kitchen came at a time that I really needed it.

As the big "50" approaches, the desire to look, live and feel ten years younger grows. I recall my 40th birthday party and how I felt so strong, lean and powerful. At 50, I have put on a few extra pounds ( 14 to be exact ) and although I consider myself to live a healthy lifestyle, I've been yearning to get completely "down and dirty" and eat clean to drop a few pounds before the big day. With that in mind and the desire to help inspire others to live their healthiest life, I submitted my name to Snap Kitchen for their #21 For Good Contest.

The fun part of this is that you will hear how my life is changing each day from what I eat to how I'm feeling. Snap Kitchen offers prepared healthy meals. It's perfect if you're trying to pick up the right things on the go, are too busy to make your snacks, dinner, or whatever meal you need. If I stick to the program and have some great results, Snap Kitchen will donate up to $3,000 to a charity of my choice- but keep in mind there are 14 others doing the same thing - Eating their meals and offering to share knowledge and tips from the experience.

For those of you who know me, I have many social engagements each evening. I have been known to have a glass of wine or two at these events. To attend them socially while tea-totaling may be challenging. Another challenge may be eating meals that I'm not used to selecting for myself. I have never been a big fan of "tofu" or diet foods, so Im really looking forward to the experience.

So here goes my #21 Days for Good program. I hope to inspire you to eat healthier, get moving and enjoy all of your life.
